Meals & MannersAre your employees projecting a positive image when they take valuable clients or prospective clients out to dine?

For thousands of years, important business deals have been struck over a fine meal. Food and drink bring people together in ways that few other things can. At the same time, a meal gone wrong can sour a deal very quickly. That is why it is so important to know how to navigate a business luncheon or dinner with grace and poise.

In this personalized three-hour program for private corporate groups, Business of Manners tutors your salespeople, account managers and other client-focused representatives in the finer points of dining etiquette as they enjoy a delicious three-course luncheon or dinner with wine.

The lessons are interspersed throughout the courses, giving participants a chance to put their learning into practice immediately and to ask questions as they arise from real-life situations.

In addition to North American etiquette, attention is paid to various other cultures around the globe so that participants can feel confident entertaining clients from a variety of backgrounds.

An etiquette quiz with 30 multiple choice questions is assigned to each participant before the event. The quiz is then marked and handed back during the meal, when the answers are reviewed and discussed in light of the new learning.

I loved your talk on manners, customs and protocol for dining internationally. Your delivery was charming and funny, and you handled the audience with great skill. I particularly loved how you dealt with the whisperers in the crowd, a pet peeve of mine. How ironic and apropos of a talk on manners.

What a fun way to revisit the fine art of dining. I was especially impressed with the way you gently help people to be more polite. Your suggestions for ways to meet people and what to say, to learn more about what interests them were particularly useful for me.

Your warmth and enthusiasm put me right at ease, while your thorough knowledge of the subject kept me interested in all you presented. I think I have really mastered the art of having the last mouthful last long enough for my guests to finish their meal…Many thanks.

Very good feedback from the Wednesday night group. They had lots of stories to tell and lots to laugh about. They said you were a hoot (to quote one person). Thank you Adeodata for helping all our Sysco managers.
